lack of strike in my whippet

Recommended Posts

f**k me, pessimistic! The lad has just started her on the lamp, she's taking rabbits daytime and your saying, if she doesn't start bagging them in the next couple of trips, stick her in a pet home! Bit extreme that. She can obviously take them, just needs more practice and experiance, she's 13 month ffs.

Maybe try with a rabbit skin dummy on a rope, swinging it about, get her to practice her strike etc. Don't just give up on the dog and move on.

ITS A WHIPPET IF ITS NOT TAKING RABBITS FOR 13 MONTH GET RID.RABBIT SKIN ON A DUMMY    FKN TWAT

You have only made a couple of posts and all have made it clear you are a total bell end, so go play with traffic.

Ok, so i'll bite, what's wrong with giving a dog that's having difficulty striking, a bit of training with a skin dummy or dead rabbit to help it a long?

My whippet was very slow to strike and tended to want to chase over catching. I found him much slower to learn the skill compared to the lurchers ive had, but when he did learn, my god he pulled off some spectacular catches. Many people would have got rid, expecting too much too soon, but mine are much loved pets as well as working dogs and i have found most will do a good job given time and regular opportunity.
