1 thing is certain Craig , when Old Father Time (he is a time#piece specialist ) retires , he will take some following , then i see you struggling for a while , because the fans now EXPECT success at O.T. , lots off pressure will be on the new manager , bringin in so called TOP FORIEGN managers doesnt guarantee anythin , look at scolari at Chelsea , though i think Maourinio would be your best bet ....................... though id give the job to Graeme Souness look at the GREAT JOB he done at Liverpool :whistling:

i agree mate,theres nobody to touch the old genius i think mourinho would be the best bet,certainly not moyes or souness i cant understand why the so called no 2s cant take over the reigns,mike phelan must know fergie inside out but the likes of brian kidd and sammy lee have shown it doesnt seem to work,fook knows why

Craig , you will always have Leader's and follower's , Fergie is a Leader as was Clough , the likes off Sammy Lee , Brian Kidd ect are followers , not knockin them just the way i see it , Mourinio is a Leader off men without a doudt , the way the players reacted when he left Inter Milan confirmed that , i played a bit and if i could have a choice off a manager in my corner off the modern day players id choose Roy Keane all day long , though he doesnt seem to lift players , maybe its the way modern footballers are pampered and he wont wear that cr4p , i honestly thought when he went into managment he would be an instant success , and end up at Old Trafford , though i doudt that now !

Think thats a bit harsh.....it could be argued that with Moyes budget/squad etc he,s on par with Ferguson as a manager.....we can all be the greatest manager in the world with unlimited funds but sometimes more about true quality is proved a little further down the table in my opinion.

I think a lot of it comes down to man management being as important as tactical awareness........i wouldnt imagine Roy Keane is the most likeable of characters but im sure he can motivate players......Mourihno im sure is very smart tactically and a great reader of the game......likewise Harry Redknapp seems to have great relationships with players and can motivate them in a different way as he,s such an engaging fella.........its obviously a balance of knowing the game,tactical awareness and man management....Bobby Robson and Venables were both great examples.....i think the best managers seem to have played at a decent level not necessarily top level like Keane.......another example is the Barcelona manager i forget his name now.......just all round good knowledge of the game and good motivators.

Pep Guardiola is Barca coach Gnash , Roy Keane was a winner whether likable or not he is a player EVERY player should respect and draw strength from but it doesnt seemed to off worked for Keane , well in todays world of football i think the players have different morals and attitudes (created by massive wealth and not livin in the real world ect) ,dont think havin money guarentees anythin , look at Benitez and the 10s off millions he spent tryin and failin to deliver the Premiership to Liverpool , a physio who worked at West Ham has moved to the Island Gnash , she was tellin me she worked with stuart slater there ,

Not Charlotte Belford by any chance is it ?....Good little player Stuart Slater....speaking of Everton he scored the winner in the 6th round Fa Cup against them must have been about 92 i remember Forest done us 4 nil in the semi final....but Slater had a great game that night.

 

You say that about Benitez.....but Ferguson has had 20 odd years of that,dont you think if Benitez could have had 20 years he might have eventually got it right,but clubs like Liverpool dont have that kind of patience they want instant results.....money dont buy success but it certanly helps.
