Guest busterdog
The hairy chest brigade talking shite again, some terriers work like a dream from day one but MOST don't, they all have to learn to work and they need experiance to do it, the more it sees the better it will be, but then again you can give them to much just as easily as not enough, the more you see the better YOU'LL get lol. 2 Quote Link to post

dev 226
Totally agree with busterdog. Young dogs have to learn. Its a long and hard road to becoming a good reliable worker, time and patience needed . Quote Link to post
OldNog 432
Mine did it the first time she bolted a big dog fox. Went in baying fine, then come out stuck her face out at me then went stright back to it for 10 mins and it bolted. The majority of blokes would have binned my bitch but i only have her so could afford to give her plenty of time and chances and last season she proved that she was worth the effort. Main highlight was a dig after a far more experienced dog couldnt bottle the quarry up. Wasnt deep but awkard for us digging a thick blackthorn hedge thoguh pretty much pure flint. Also had a 5ft do on my brothers shoot at the end of the season which was hard going but she stuck in the same spot the whole while. Quote Link to post

Its a long and hard road to becoming a good reliable worker, time and patience needed . hmmm well dont totally agree here with you...... all good dogs i know or have seen have been socialised [bANNED TEXT] and brought through stages right from a pup up so when the time comes it should be natural to the dog.... after all is that not why we breed proven workers to workers??? although granted not every pup will make the grade....but all should be given proper time for trial and error but if your gut and experience as a terrierman tells you its no good because you gave it so many chances hoping its going to be good.......... then vets for the sleeping needle ....... that just my opinion Quote Link to post
Guest busterdog
You'll be able to tell out right cowardice from inexperiance two totaly different things. Quote Link to post
