I am lookin at a land rover freelander station wagon

Recommended Posts

Depends what you want it for...

Pro's- Good on wet roads, ice, grass car parks, can still repair them, and cheap to buy. ok on snowy roads. Good compromise

Con- Poor ground clearance, not great reliability, poor in mud and off road conditions (Due to ground clearance and tyres)

If you see a 4x4 broken down on the side of the road, nine times out of ten it's a freelander :(

After you have sorted all the issues out, electrical, head gasket (petrol) and everything else that goes wrong with them then you will have a good car - Stick with a Jap 4x4.

Or... I recently purchased a Frontera short wheel base diesel, which has surprised me. Very comfortable, loads of power but it is a re-badged Isuzu, can be purchased for silly money. Although I did pay for this one but it's a 2000 with just 34k miles on the clock, cost me £1700 for more or less a brand new never been off roaded 4x4.

Suzuki owners here, the Vitara seems bulletproof and not as bad on fuel as people make out! Ours has coped with tame offroading (the odd foot deep pothole, long grass, but otherwise flat ish tracks). well what do you all expect we live in Norfolk. Low ratio box easy to operate and with a wheel at each corner not as bad off road as some people make them out to be!
