ellir0305 9
thats an interesting set up there micky. is the snare fixed to the fence with a fishing swivel clip? How do you get the tension or presentation with it on the swivel and not directly tied? do you find the snares last longer? Sorry for the bombardment of questions, i've got a similar situation on a permission of mine and the snare get twisted up really quick but then again it might be my shoddy snare spinning. Cheers Rob Quote Link to post
micky 3,325
It is a carp swivel, the snare is held in place with a wood tealer ,thats the stick that looks like its laying across the rabbits head, the wire is held in place by a notch cut into , the top of the tealer, then the loop can be adjusted ,you could just tie the wire onto the fence ,but this way suits me. IanB 0
I'll have to get out and get some snaring done shortly, theres some good fields next to a small plantation I'll be doing after the weekend, been too busy pigeon/crow shooting. Quote Link to post
tegater 789
Interesting this one. Have you attached the rabbit wire to the swivel, by the twine, or is the wire attached directley to the swivel like a fox wire? Looks a good way of doing it. (I cant tell from the photo) Quote Link to post

(I cant tell from the photo) You could attach a swivel either way, direct on the snare or twine. I've never bothered with them, but the wood tealer/swivel setup works well.. Quote Link to post

micky 3,325
No twine is used , wire to swivel - swivel to fence ,i am not physically able to tie knots, so this method suits me,the loop is adjusted by pulling the wire through the tealer ,that is then pushed in to the required height and the swivel clipped to the fence 1 Quote Link to post
IanB 0
Ah right, depends on the fencing your snaring near, its all stock fencing where I'm at, so they would tangle even with a swivel.. Handy for yourself though.. Quote Link to post

I like the idea though. Quote Link to post
