first feather

Recommended Posts

All depends where you are and what you do, before we moved all my ground was farmed with no shoots around. The odd bit of feather was a bonus for the pot and bothered no one. Now its a bit different, most of the ground locally is shot over and i rely on keepers goodwill for some of my permission. Its now not so handy that the dogs will snap them up so i have to keep a good eye on them especially at this time of year. In my view its all about respect, when the birds are genuinely wild then why not but if someone has worked hard to put them there and relies on results on shoot days for a living then its not on. was only out on a walk an she just had it, no shoots around there so don't know where it come from.

not happy with her but things like this happen sometimes.

I'd be well happy if 1 of my dogs caught a pheasent as none of em do feather got no interest in it at all, its quite a rare thing nowadays
