muddy210 34
im currently looking to get hold of some of the older finders as i work with a few electronics engineers have mentioned about these in the past and they dont reckon they will be that hard to repair if parts are available if i can get hold of a few cheap enough i will be seeing if repairs are possible ill keep ya posted Quote Link to post

muddy210 34
f mac i know have been watching a few go they seem to go for good money to much for me to get just to have a play with. i think mick dadd buys a few up saw an advert on the rabbiters forum from what i beleive to be him asking for old mk 1s i think people stuggle to get the spares from anywhere so they break down the finders and rebiuld with them. muddy210 34
got the mark 3m myself good bit of kit i have the idea that if i can get them repaired it would be a good idea as there are still loads out there that will need fixing in the future Quote Link to post
The one 8,512
New resistors etc dont fit the old mk1 boxes so folk are running out of spares and as said folk are asking /buying up old mk1 boxes to break for spares .But theres some dreamers trying to sell broken boxes at inflated prices on the bay Quote Link to post
simonrocco 175
i bought 2 working old grey boxes 8ft off ebay for £90 it was by accident like i had put a bid on one and my missus had put a bid on another for my birthday and i ended up winning both i tried to buy a broken one off ebay the other day for spares but it ended up going for daft money i wouldnt pay more than £20 for a broken box. muddy210 34
its stupid what people are preparied to pay i sold my mk 1 a few years ago for more than i paid for it as for the old resistors not fitting it i can probably source some of those due to the bits of kit that we have at work and the catalouges are full of stuff that dates back to this time the basic principles of making a transmitter and receiver are quite simple getting to fit down around the ferrets neck is the dificult bit i am interested to know what parts they have fitted. to see if i can source them from anywhere.
