Id have to disagree with the comment about the hushpower mod, not making the crack of cart any less, I have a 410 fully hushpowered 3 shot bolt action, if I use sub sonics, along side my mate using his standard 410, the difference is 10 fold, the noise from mine could be mistaken for a pcp air rifle

mine was bought for urban foxes that are live trap caught, dispatching in the customers garden before removing, although much prefer to use the rimmy now, before I got the FAC, it was the next best thing, although it was fired straight down, 10mm from foxes head, using standard 3" sub sonic carts, non ever got back up, quick and humaine

I have shot foxes at 20 - 30yds with my 20 bore hushpower, its very effective, remember it has full choke and no recoil.

 

You should use gamebore hushpower cartridges.

thats a 410..........20g and 12g are bigger....and noisier...........and mine is fantastically quiet with subsonics....but as stated they dont do BB in subsonics........to be humane and fair to the fox BB is what you should be using

 

My hushpower does quieten normal cartridges but not sufficently for what the original poster requested, urban foxes near houses.......a normal BB cart will still be heard

i can bait the foxes in to 15 yards so should be ok as long as they are quiet

as long as you have permission to shoot were the foxes are i would not worry about the noise 2 bangs and it over with most people would not be bothered espesially if they new you were getting rid of the charlies that keep ripping bins apart

Got a 12g Single shot Hushpower. Never got on with it. Too big and clumsy and being a single shot, need to be a better shot than me to make the most of it. Prefer to stick with a moderated .22 or 17 hmr.
