bird 9,969
just bit of info, i dont drink much now only weekends, not like when i was younger lol. When ive had a drink 4-5 pints lager or Guinness, the next day ok maybe slight hangover. But the main feeling is like ive got a cold, sneezeing, and very nasal. My lad is the same when he as had a drink as well , but drinks more than me. Iwonder if its a reaction to the hops or sugar in the Alcohol,as i worked at a Brewery for 25 years and i know what they put in the stuff. Just wonder if anybody else gets the same prob.?? I used to get exactly the same Bird with different brands! many times I felt I was coming down with somthing feeling congested as if I was getting a cold. its weired as not all Beers had the same effect, do you think its some sort of allergy then to certain ingrediants? I now hardly touch spirits as they makes me feel ill virtually straight away.

THE DEALER! 77
bird it might be more about the enviorment your in, the pub could be warm, movement of people in bar causing dust that you cant see, going out in the cold etc. alcolhol is one of gods gift to man if taken in moderation. as you get older you tend to worry about the effects of alcolhol on your body, thats normal, my advise go out and enjoy your few pints, walking dogs in the rain would do more damage to your health, if you dont belive me look in the " bible" there all drinking wine !!!!!!! gnasher16 30,281
Is there any scientific evidence that says alcohol actually does make some folk aggressive ?....or is it simply that some folk get brave with beer in them...... Never really understood that one... By the way ive not drunk beer since i was a kid just the odd glass of wine.

jackinbox99 41
Is there any scientific evidence that says alcohol actually does make some folk aggressive ?....or is it simply that some folk get brave with beer in them...... Never really understood that one... In my own extensive back to back tests I do notice a difference in how I feel after drinking certain drinks. I find Whiskey makes me feel very angry the following day and I notice I get wound up easier and am less patient. Gin makes me feel depressed and emotional. Ouzo gives me mad hangovers, likewise so does cider. If I stick to vodka, then 9/10 I will feel fine the next day. Sometimes I can feel a bit "thick" the next day, where whilst I do not have a headache or feel sick, my brain seems to be running at only 1/10 speed. This is assuming all other factors remain the same. If you are out on the town then the environment has a larger impact on how a drink makes you feel. If you end up in a potential hostile situation then any drink can make you feel more aggressive. I think its mainly because drink can heighten your emotions, so it can make you angry easier, and likewise can make you feel loved up easier. Hense, after a few drinks sometimes my missus looks very attractive.
