This new kind of fashion has got me laughing my head off..anyway what kind of wood do you youngster's use to get your dog's off..if pit fighting was still allowed i would go for a good hickory tapered

This was a good thread, l'm all for less of the name calling and more of a constructive debate.

I quite fancy this new way of hunting. No more training your dog basic commands from an early age while taking the time to develop the working master/dog relationship up to the point where the dog wil

All i know is i never needed to youse such a thing on a lurcher , even when the taking of deer with dogs was legal,, but then again i always trained my dogs basic comands.

How many bull blooded lurchers have you ran?

Sorry Josy but it's starting to sound like the same old bull x macho shite. Bull x's are lurchers just like any other, and in fact are probably easier to train than a great deal of other lurcher types, it's just that the usual 'type of person' who owns them does not bother to try. A dog trained to let go wouldn't look as 'hard' as one foaming at the mouth having to be forcefully removed with a breaking stick  Bragging about that to their mates on street corners would get them far more brownie points than discussing training methods :D

Two x 1st gen, 1st crosses. One line bred. Never needed a breaking stick.

The staffy x whippet was the worst, took some training to get her to break from anything when training to retrieve, but after a bit of patience and perseverance she too will hold untill removed, as i recently found out
