hedz31 1,308
what so ye leave a dog to kill a deer pardon me if am wrong pal but killing a deer aint a quick quiet thing ye must be standing there for some time watching the thrashing about and noise are ye helping the dog out by cutting there throat or sticking it ??? i deal with it y way fella ye deal with it yours i like it done quick and as quietly as possible each to there own If your dog had the mineral's and knew what it was doing you would not be able to slit anything's throat because the dog would be firmly clamped to it.. Agree on this one. artic ive been out with ye pre-ban seen dogs on quarry now did that dog let go and did it not go on for 5 to 10 mins as we didnt have a break stick and the animals throat was cut it was also noisey and thrashing it can be done quicker and quieter Quote Link to post

Malt 379
well fella ive not used a break stick on rabbit or hare foxes ive already said ill only use them if more are coming in because a dog does all the work anyway theres only 2 types of quarry for a break stick imo and a few different situations I don't suppose you would have the need for one for those mate, no! Happens as quickly as it took me to type it. Quote Link to post

Millet 4,497
Didnt you have a really bad fight on your hands a few year ago with dogs high tailing it and getting lost because you could not stop the fight? Correct.. ..i did write about the encounter on here some years ago..and i have had to break many a dog scrap up in my time..that particular occasion you mention was a 6 way fight on a routine exercise walk in the pitch dark..the fight was stopped pretty quick as any other i encounter are..and not once have i ever needed a chav stick..and even if i did have one it would of been no use unless i had arm's like a octopus with a stick in each hand..
