tia.kins 56
My mate from Derby came down to visit this weekend and we headed out to run some bunnies in Cornwall. It was a long old night but we were able the give the dogs plenty of rest in between runs, and they all had plenty of experience building runs. It was nice to see the various young dogs, and how they are shaping up with regards to how they go about catching their coney.....some were flat out up the chuff, others being that bit more reserved, taking their time and being sensible about stuff. All of the dogs ran well and left us with a nice haul to sort out whilst they took thier well deserved rest. End of night. One happy visitor and his collie cur! I look forward to doing again soon Edited August 29, 2011 by tia.kins Quote Link to post

tia.kins 56
Tomo, We were pleased. I wasnt counting to be honest, but law of averages says 15 ish. She is nice and steady and should make a useful lamping dog and all round lurcher if she carries on as she is. Ferret-boy, lithium or standard cell, its all about the battery AmpHour....and how much you have the lamp on Quote Link to post
tia.kins 56
well done. do you drive round the fields, its just the rabbits havent been gutted. i always gut mine as i am lamping makes them lighter to carry. We drove that night, but like you when i am on foot i get them when the bag gets too heavy or when a natural break presents itself. The rabbits i catch are dog and ferret food, so if we are driving, then they all get cleaned out when the night ends. Do you gut them as you go when ferreting or save until the end?
