Mixing dry foods canceling out each other out?. Some people put some shit on the internet!

If the person who wrote it told you to your face you'd laugh at her, funnily enough it's usually a woman.

The trouble is people read stuff and it's as if it's the word of god and not the word of some soppy cow who has no education in animal dietry needs, just some self appointed expert trying to make themselves look important.

I have heard the same shit about mixing raw and dry 'different digestion times blah blah blah' Then you look at greyhound trainers who have been doing just that for donkeys years and there dogs are pure atheletes.

lol i know what your saying but im no expert and iv only ever mixed food if im swapping from one to another and iv got a bit left but that is how i do it everyone has there ways and thats fine all the feeding aside its her dogs there is a fault with and she should not be breeding them knowing what they can produce iv never had or seen this in a dog before my pup

f*****g horrible, id happily smash her legs into that shape with a block of wood and hammer

bad joke, making money, if you make money it something you should put time and effort into (especially breeding dogs) IMO and be proud of the outcome, sad low lives who dont give to fucks as long as they can afford a night out and a jab or 2.

I thought all dogs that went through rescues were spayed makes you wonder if this bitch is getting them passed through the back door so to speak.

People take good healthy greys retired from the track and consider it 'rescued'

Or a neighbour wanted to rehome their Saluki and they 'rescued' it.

Rescued and from a rescue, 2 totally different things.

Slag this woman off for over breeding from her dog, and for lieing about it, but the repeat breeding won't be of any damage to the pups.

Folks need to get it out of their head that she is breeding some genetic disorder. She isn't.

she did say she got them from kennels but some don't have the funds to spay and neuter there dogs before rehoming maybe this was the case

if there is a chance of one pup turning out like ours did why take the risk because i know i wouldn't

Even the best bred litters run the chance of carpal deformities.

Carpal Varus is simply the scientific term for the angle of the deformity.

Did your pup show signs of bow leggedness when you picked it up? And if so, why did you buy it?

If it didn't, what do you expect the breeder to do about it?

Considering most cases of bow legged, knuckling over, what ever you want to call it, correct themselves through easily managed structure, I still don't understand why you had the pup pts, but I imagine not an easy choice to make.

sorry but no it didn't look bow legged when i picked it up otherwise i would not have got it

i don't expect her to do nothing it just got my back up when i seen she had bred from the dogs again when my dog was as bad as it was

you would have understood why i had her pts if you seen how much pain she was in . it would have been dam right cruel if i kept her in pain like that she could not walk . and what if her feet stopped that flat and her bones wasn't as strong as they should have been should i have spent all my time training and bonding with the poor dog to take it out working and the first run it had could have snapped its legs or all her toes sorry but i wasn't taking the risk of moor pain and suffering for the dog or me

The bigger issue to me is it wasn't just his pup. It was at least 2 from the litter which probably means there were and will be more. There is no conclussive evidence on the exact cause of the deformity but whatever the cause this woman knows she has created pups with it and has chose to keep breeding from the bitch.

a difficult decision to have to make imo you did the correct thing in pts. . not an easy choice!.dont let it put you off pups in the future there is a lot of good stuff out there , just do your homework before you buy ... good luck

      Evening all,
I'm lucky enough to have first pick from a friends litter. He’s crossed his Saluki dog with his Collie Bull GH bitch. I’ve only seen videos of the litter as he’s based in UK. Few different characters in the litter, some sit reluctant off in the back ground others play among themselves two are incredibly forward one more than the other.

What key things do you look for when picking a litter? I’ve mostly ran mine on rabbits, reds and some others.

      Go stead,
      oshea

Help Required as to ancestry /history of my saluki /Greyhound.
I have just lost my dog of a lifetime to cancer, she was 11/12 yrs old.I am truly heartbroken.
I'm not a hunter, but have always loved sight hounds in particular salukis.
My dog Fern was a very distinguishable sighthound ,her colouring alone a mutated dilute. Was quite a show stopper. I'd have people literally stopping cars to ask what she was as she held herself well and looked awesome.
She was Steel and tan with a white butterfly on chest. White tips on feet.
      Fur like velvet and shone.
      A glamourous looking dog.
She passed through I believe 5 lurcher men before coming to me age around 4 yrs.
      I had her 8 yrs.
I have  sketchy details of her young life and know she was initially used as a racing dog and then a lampers dog. Until she hurt her spine and broke a toe.
Fern was born around 2009,lived in North East England (Northumberland).
I believe she had two litters of puppies (do you have one?)
Lived Winlaton, Mickley,Prudhoe , Ryton, Greenside, Horsley.
I believe her father (sire) may of being khan jihad.
I believe her mother (dam) was a steel greyhound and was a Irish coursing champion.
Does anyone know who that might be?
      Who bred Fern?
Does her heritage fit time scale wise?
I would dearly love to know as I said, totally in bits at her loss.
I just want to try and recreate her or seek out someone who might be able too from same lineage.
Whilst I'm not a hunter, I turned Fern from huntress to helper in that I used her skills and abilities to bring deer out to me to photograph, as I'm a professional photographer. We were quite a team.
I just loved everything about that girl.
      Thanks for any help received.
