I will give her a call later, I think we should all call her !   I may even pass her details to the animal rights nutters.

Her's the link to the advert, scroll down and click on report this advert on the left hand side below the ad. You can give exact details of what has happened when filling out the form.   http://www.

if i remember correctly , it can be coused by poor feeding .. lack of calcium ect and or . a genetic disorder that can and will be passed on .. think the pup a couple of years ago was a bitch of similar couloring probebly doesent show itself in all the pups so its a lottery !!!!

the ones that this silverpaws character breed were full salukis if i remember right .

your right i can be through poor feeding she was not feeding her pups right for one you can course this by mixing two different dry feeds as

it cancels things out and she was feeding

and chudleys mixed the vet said it is genetic so

we contacted the breeder and sent her the pix of

the pups legs and feet and she still bred from

them she needs stopping

Who's told you Carpal Varus can be caused by mixing 2 dry feeds? And that feeding 2 dry feeds cancels each other out?

Would love to hear more on this...

I don't feed the dried shit any more but when I did I would regularly feed redmills and Sneyds mixed, occasionally throwing a bag of Chudleys in there.

What your saying is the equivalent of "never have a beef roast dinner and a bowl of chicken and rice at the same time as they cancel each other out". Surely not?

carpal varus means bending out of the legs there is no proper name for it . right when feeding pups you should not feed two different dry feeds together it can cancel some things out what a pup needs and can effect its growth and course some problems like the legs bowing out or in if iv missed anything just ask

humm she had quit a few lurchers in the past she was showing me all the pix when i fetched my pup another thing she told me she rescued both the saluki and the greyhound so how would she know any back ground from the dogs she said she works them on her land

never herard of that before ! mixing 2 different dry foods cousing problems ........ my understanding is very poor diet .. !! 2 types canceling each other out ... not sure about that one ..

i didn't till i took this pup to the vets and he told me and i also read up on it on the internet because we found a sight and it was called knuckling over and it looked like the same thing as the pups had and it states on there about mixing dry feeds

its called GREATDANELADY.COM

I would imagine feeding two types of dry food would cause 'doubling up' on some of the ingredients rather than 'cancelling out'?

Anyways.........what a greedy heartless clown she is to breed again knowing the outcome is likely to be disappointment and heartache for the owners of the pups.

dont mean to sound harsh, why did you buy a pup in the first place ,bred off rescued dogs.but i do agree she does need putting right.

i wouldnt put any credance on that article in greatdanelady .com seems she is promoting a perticular brand /type of dry food , also danes have enough problems in the breed . mainly coused by the show freturnaty ,,in breeding .for showing not function .

Great danes suffer totally different problems, some caused by big bones growing too quickly.

As stated in your last post when your pup was pts. Carpal Varus is not genetic. It can be a side effect of a genetic disorder, but it isn't the disorder.

Though, unless she has changed the feeding habits of her dogs and puppies, this is likely to happen again.

      Evening all,
I'm lucky enough to have first pick from a friends litter. He’s crossed his Saluki dog with his Collie Bull GH bitch. I’ve only seen videos of the litter as he’s based in UK. Few different characters in the litter, some sit reluctant off in the back ground others play among themselves two are incredibly forward one more than the other.

What key things do you look for when picking a litter? I’ve mostly ran mine on rabbits, reds and some others.

      Go stead,
      oshea

Help Required as to ancestry /history of my saluki /Greyhound.
I have just lost my dog of a lifetime to cancer, she was 11/12 yrs old.I am truly heartbroken.
I'm not a hunter, but have always loved sight hounds in particular salukis.
My dog Fern was a very distinguishable sighthound ,her colouring alone a mutated dilute. Was quite a show stopper. I'd have people literally stopping cars to ask what she was as she held herself well and looked awesome.
She was Steel and tan with a white butterfly on chest. White tips on feet.
      Fur like velvet and shone.
      A glamourous looking dog.
She passed through I believe 5 lurcher men before coming to me age around 4 yrs.
      I had her 8 yrs.
I have  sketchy details of her young life and know she was initially used as a racing dog and then a lampers dog. Until she hurt her spine and broke a toe.
Fern was born around 2009,lived in North East England (Northumberland).
I believe she had two litters of puppies (do you have one?)
Lived Winlaton, Mickley,Prudhoe , Ryton, Greenside, Horsley.
I believe her father (sire) may of being khan jihad.
I believe her mother (dam) was a steel greyhound and was a Irish coursing champion.
Does anyone know who that might be?
      Who bred Fern?
Does her heritage fit time scale wise?
I would dearly love to know as I said, totally in bits at her loss.
I just want to try and recreate her or seek out someone who might be able too from same lineage.
Whilst I'm not a hunter, I turned Fern from huntress to helper in that I used her skills and abilities to bring deer out to me to photograph, as I'm a professional photographer. We were quite a team.
I just loved everything about that girl.
      Thanks for any help received.
