ulverston moocher 60
A while ago now I bought my mrs a aas410 but she has never realy taken to it so we have sold it and been to bar today to get her some thing different to try any ways we had a £450 budget give or take a bit she looked at several second hand air rifles but she realy liked the look and feel of the ultra so she is the new owner of a brand spanking new single shot bsa ulta with logun silencer, scopes and pellets all for the great price of £398 she is made up now and we are going out soon to zero it in and see how she goes with it. My next question is wats the crack with having them tench regged whats the pros and cons what would I gain from having it done and how much would it set me back and is it worth doing to a brand new gun, gun has been chronoed at shop in front of me and was running 11.5flbs.consistantly. thanks for reeding guys UM Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
As long as you keep it topped up after 40 or so shots, no need for a reg. Just something else to go wrong! Do not forget fitting a reg will invalidate the BSA 2 year warranty! Quote Link to post
ulverston moocher 60
well done on the new rifle mate hope it all goes well atb alex Cheers alex As long as you keep it topped up after 40 or so shots, no need for a reg. Just something else to go wrong! Do not forget fitting a reg will invalidate the BSA 2 year warranty! Thats what I was thinking moley but 40 shots will be fine for her plinking and for her to take the odd rabbit with and when the novelty has warn off for me to get my stick mits on it and have a crack but if I get 40 shots thats plenty for bunny bashing be lucky to see 40 rabbits in the night round here nowa days Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
My Mrs as a brand new Ultra too buddy and they are brilliant out the box if filled to 200 bar and not 232, but if you want to make it the best it can be then a Simon Howarth reg (Tench reg) is what you will need buddy. Ive had 2 fitted to 2 of my Ultras so i can speak with some experience. Overall consistency improves 10 fold and is something special. Shot count improves (90 in .177 and 110 in .22) apose to 30 in .177 and 40 in .22 to a non regged Ultra. If you get the rifle short stroked at the same time the lock time greatly improves so accuarcy comes easier. The cost of a reg is £120. If used for hunting or plinking like you have described buddy i wouldnt rush to get it regged as the Ultra as it is used up to 30 or 40 shots is well consistent enough and will do the buissiness at all sub 12 ranges. No one can carry 30 rabbits buddy and a HFT course is usually not more that 30 targets anyway bud. Either way you cant go wrong buddy. Simon is a master at what he does and i cant recommend him enough. Si Edited August 28, 2011 by zini Quote Link to post
ulverston moocher 60
spot on for the info si I think we will have it done eventualy but for now I think we will just enjoy the new gun Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Well enjoy it, the Ultra is a cracking little rifle! I had fun with mine, I just did not like the loading/cocking system, I prefer a do it all big bolt! But that is just Mole and the Ultra is a decent rifle! Quote Link to post
Metalman2 45
As per Moley, the Ultra is a very accurate, lightweight gun, had one for a while but did not get on with the MMC, cheers Rich Quote Link to post

The Duncan 802
As per Moley, the Ultra is a very accurate, lightweight gun, had one for a while but did not get on with the MMC, cheers Rich Agree in every respect. I had the multi-shot version for a while and never got on with the magazine system (unreliable, including the upgraded version I bought). hated the mmc bit too. Makes the HW100 system look like a work of pure, unadulterated genius. D Quote Link to post
ulverston moocher 60
yeh must admit the loading is a bit of a faf thats why we went for the single shot I have never rated bsa's magasines and multi shot operating systems think they leave a lot to be desired. The ultra is a smashing little gun but I wouldnt swap her for my hw100. @shepp I wish then I could watch cant beat full on lettace liking session lol. Quote Link to post
