Tyla 3,179
My older bitch was an exciting dog to watch as any i've seen, real do or die, BUT, that resulted in a long string of injuries and her being nigh on retired at 4 when she should have been in her prime. My pup for this season, i really hope, should be a bit more sensible. I love watching the nutty ones but now would rather have a dog i can run regular without spending half the season repairing her. Fingers crossed Quote Link to post
skycat 6,173
I must admit I'd rather watch a dog run a hare real tight, turn for turn: much more exciting, but of course, the faster the dog, the less wind it has: as a general rule. Yes, I love to see the slower Saluki types thinking on their feet, boxing a hare away from cover, letting it run in the open, then working it away from the cover again, but the up and at 'em dogs just give more of a thrill. Had a little bitch who could do 3 minutes at top speed: she was only 22", hopeless on plough, but once they got on the wheat it was game over, 90% of the time at any rate. There's always going to be a super hare which out wits most dogs. Quote Link to post
fcuktheban 140
I like seeing a dog keeping up close waiting for the slip up that gives it an opening. Brains, speed and endurance Quote Link to post
