Its true in the 14th and 15th century the english and socttish banned commoners from owning sight-hound it was then they started to cross sheep dogs to sight-hounds and rise of the lurcher came about the collie x is the first and a traditional type then other crosses started to come about

in the north they always had deerhound type mixed with the heeland hill collie beardie type , far cry from the deerhound now , lowlanders had the greyhoundy type whippet type , i think the sasenachs when the invaded scotland brought some of the braw deerhonds back with them lol so hence the english love the deerhounds now mate lol

I voted lurcher to lurcher, but I don't really like these polls as most of my dogs are lurcher to lurcher, but with a dash, or sometimes a lot, of Saluki in them. Like any poll, the results can be misleading if people have to vote given the available options.
