coney clucky 93
what do you recon is it best to train your new charges with your already working dog im at present training 12month old bull cross bitch and have twice took out with me old dog to show her how and what to chase but think myself that it tends to get pup worked up abit so last night tried her on her own and to be honest a part from her not watching lamp yet when she did see bunnies run she was of on the chase and managed to catch 7 which is the most to date with her and she came straight back which she wasnt doing when old dog was around Quote Link to post
trigger2 3,170
i take my pup out with the old dog until he starts to catch the odd rabbit. once he has achieved this i then take them out single handed until i get them going well, unless they are struggling to catch then i will give them the odd night here and there with the old dog again so as they get to mouth a rabbit and try to keep there confidence up.
