Guest REDROB
the point im trying to make is, if your dog was lets just say 1 month off a full strip and it lost some of its top coat the new coat will start to grow straight away.and if you work your borders regular they will lose coat, so to me the coat will be out of sink if you no what i mean, i no the coat will grow back, i also no the coat will be uneven if you work your terriers, if you just show, of course the coat will be 100% every time you show it, lets say if you strip half your dog and leave the other half for 5-6weeks the new coat will grow, so when you strip out the other half it will be shorter than the first strip out. so what im also trying to say is that most show people { not all as vixen works her borders} dont work there borders, i cant remember the show dates for the border terrier club shows but i think they were in the middle of the season, and to me there coats were in to good condition to have seen any earth work. littlefish 588
I was there on Thursday - gundog day. I know very little about gundog breed standards but as a dog owner, I would have called some of the Labradors on display 'on the fat side'. There was a much more althletic version in the Field Trails display arena - it was able to jump over a hurdle, i'm not sure the specimens in the breed show rings would have though.
