Shaunm41 14
This is my idea: To whom it may concerm, We are looking in the local area for areas with rabbit problems that we are able to deal with. We offer this free of charge and we usually come during darkness or at dusk or dawn when rabbits are most active. We use air rifles to dispatch rabbits and we are fully insured up to £2,000,000 in the unlikely event of any accident. If this may be of interest to you please contact me and I can come up to see you Many thanks Quote Link to post
smithie 2,443
i would just knock on the door as he the farmer can judge you better face to face, unless you got tats on your eye lids then plan a might be the best option.. theres also mixi around your way now and that controls the bunnys better than we can Quote Link to post

As said knock on doors. Problem with email or letters is you are waiting for a response, at least face to face you get a decision then and there. Quote Link to post
markha 99
Another way of doing is to just make yourself some business cards up on your PC and put a nice countryside picture on it or something, plus the logo of which ever shooting organsiation your a member of as well as your membership number and contact details and just put the words free rabbit control as the heading. Then leave them at your local pet shop, gun shop, fishing shop, put them through farm post boxes if there is no-one there for you to ask face to face, just get them out everywhere you can think of, dont forget the farm shops and also building and plumbing shops In the end it will all come good and word will get round. fry 209
this one worked for me with people who bought a paddock i had permission on previously B,A.S.A are rubbish and i wont use them again but you get the idea all me others have come from a knock on the door and a smile. i try and butter up all me permissions with a bit of veg from the lotty or a bit of smoked mackerall if i been fishing and once i have permission i try and avoid being seen especially by peoples little kids or grand children get a game bag so if you are seen there aint no danglin dead animals to upset no one good luck Dear Mr &Mrs Edwards Mr Dorber had kindly given me permission to shoot rabbits in the paddock that now belongs to you with my son, we use silenced air rifles so there is no noise disturbance and only shoot safely and humanely( one shot one kill all ways within range) I will be very sorry to loose this spot as we have had some good evenings there. Mr Stutchbury who owns the bigger field to the left and Mrs Duncan who rents it have also gave me permission to shoot there. We are B.A.S.A members and insured (public liability £2,000,000) I am informed that 4 rabbits munch through 2.2 acres of grass a season and also cause injury to livestock with the holes they dig. If you are anti shooting, fishing ect I totally understand and respect your point of view. Finally all rabbit taken are eaten either by me my family and friends or my little dog so they don’t just die for nothing, judging by the numbers I have seen here they will never be totally gone and will breed nearly as fast as we shoot them but hopefully we can keep the numbers down a bit. If you are agreeable to my request I would be very happy to oblige and can be contacted on the above numbers, if not I apologise for wasting your time. Yours sincerely i shot 6 on this little paddock tonight Edited September 1, 2011 by fry Quote Link to post
