think its because red nose is a line of american pitbull so if anyone had a cross out of 1 it would be banned in the uk, think thats why hes not getting any sensible answers to a dodgy question

Loads of dogs have red noses as you call it, staffordshire bulls have them to, they call it dudley if i remember rightly. So cos your hound got a a red nose don't mean it's out of a apbt. And same with the blue colour loads of staff bulls are blue.. Can't see nowt wrong with the question.

I.ve never seen a red nose Staffie seen sh*t loads of blue Staffies flying around tell you what I seen the other day a black & tan Staffie

they were supposedly a very game line from Ireland 100 years ago, but not all red are each dog is differnt like any breed.!

I've seen a red nosed Staff,a 'pure bred' K.C registered one at that. It's just a gene that dilutes colour, people get too hung up on it thinking it's a certain type. It may have been a type at one point but not any more as it's been mixed into most lines.

 

It's also in loads of other dogs, Hungarian Vizlas, Dogue de Bordeaux, Plummers, Retrievers, nearly all the Mediterranean rabbit hounds etc so it doesn't necessarily related to the Pit.

 

BTW Cannyboy, blue Staffords/pit type normally have the dilute gene which means their noses are blue as well. The nose may be darker than the rest of the body but they're not black as they are in dogs that don't have the dilute gene.

No worries, their noses are normally quite dark so it's not obvious like it is with the red nosed dogs. If you look at the Kerry Blue and some other breeds their blue coat is created by a different gene so the nose on them is black.
