SteveHolden 2
Hi As a ferret owner having returned to the sport after a long time, I haven't been out yet and subsequently have no rabbits to feed my ferrets. My springer on the other hand is catching rabbits almost daily with myxomatosis. Can I safely feed these to the ferrets as a change from chicken and dried food? Thanks in advance Quote Link to post
Jamie m 668
I've fed mixe rabbits in the past , won't be doing the moxie this year as most places have bounced back it is dishartening seeing them suffer and a waste to , Quote Link to post
The one 8,470
If they have just caught myxi you can , But if they have had myxi for a while the flesh will be wasting away and there's no real food value in it . Quote Link to post
isa hunt 3
Isn't mixi caused by a flea? Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
Yes it is caused by a flea that carries the disease Steve there is nothing wrong in feeding dried food in the summer, you can feed rabbit in winter which is the official time for good ferreting. Quote Link to post
max abell 196
mixy rabbits will not hurt your ferrets but personaly i don't feed them to mine i would rather feed pigeon crow road kill or good quality dry food then mixy rabbits the state of them with green puss al round there eyes etc looks bad enough to look at can you imagine eating it UUURG could cut the head off i suppose Quote Link to post
