I use a varied degree of stuff, panacur, nilzan, and the pour on for cattle and sheep, but i use the zantal for pups whenever i have any, which is seldom, lol.

Ive had real good results when worming dam from around day 40 using panacur 10%. Read a good report on the research which was done & it worked for me.

On pups from 3 week old i use a syringe type wormer which i think shirleys do. Again, great results. You see the worms & even better is the price. Less than a fiver will do a medium size litter several times & if its only for one pup then it will get him to the teething stage or longer.

For such a low price & common sense, there really is no excuse for abreeder to pass on a pup at 8 week with worms.

Adults,i got several reactions when worming & flea'ing on the same day & now make it a day or two apart.

I agree. Pups should be wormed from 2 weeks with the best of stuff no matter what price to give them the best start possible. There's Nothing worse than going to a mans yard to see his litter and them all lying up with pot bellies full of worms. When you inquire about if they've been wormed he produces s cheap no good syrup that wouldn't worm a hamster. As said [bANNED TEXT] I like that drontal because when you dose them you see the results the next day when your cleaning the kennels. It puts my mind at rest knowing the dose has been affective. Good thread lads...........MUDD.......

Hi all lovely piece of Reading, advocate is the one I was given by the vets. A quick question for you experts, I worked them both on the 24 yesterday, with good results, when can I worm them again? Don't want to overdo it for sure. As it says on the product I used advocate, it lasts a month. Do I wait the full month before worming again, or sooner???? Both pups pooing up worms, one pup has been sneezing, now I now why, bloody worms coming out of her nose. Seems to have stopped sneezing now, thank god!

I havnt used that gear as of yet mate. So to be honest the best advice I could give you is to follow the instructions. Unless someone that has experience using advocate can comment further. I've heard of people over worming pups and making them very I'll as a result. If the worms are flying out of them after that dose I'd say it's done the job and to leave them until they're due another dose. other wise you're probably gonna blow the gutts clean out of them and make them worse than ever. Thank u mudd dog, phoned the vet up, was told to let nature take it's course, only to reuse advocate when the month is over. Yes you can overworm them, thank you mudd dog once again, that's why I like this forum so much, good folk on here, some better educated than myself, always ready to give expert advice, thank you to all concerned. Pups looking a bit better than yesterday, cooked some chicken breast for them tonight, they deserve it what they been throu!
