Delicious. Can't understand how some folk only consider them for bait. They're one of our tastiest fish.

This year I fished for them with single baits on light tackle as opposed to feathers, great craic and they can be a very sporting fish.

Pity they don't grow to double figures, LOL.

had some not long back fresh caught --- done on the b b q with bacon stilton and rocket saled all slung in a big old lump of french stick :thumbs:

 

 

Spot on, love mackeral and my mouth is watering, my eight year old went mackeral fishing last week froma boat with her grandparents, i was proud as punch tht she caught and ate the fish, unlike most kids who wont eat food unless its packaged with a toy and tastes like ground horse dung...........

its been a poor season for macks on the west coast very patchy and very small stamp of fish when u hit them .had 4 blanks out of 8 outings the freezers empty :huh:

 

small fish are because of the bad winter, they dont grow at the same rate when its super cold
