appleblossom 691
Another great day of racing and showing was had by all at the Sporting Whippet Club Northern Ireland, held at Dunsilly Kennells, Co Antrim last Sunday. This fine venue has the best racing track in Northern Ireland, and is kept in top class condition by its caring owner Mr Victor Mc Donald. The weather was not so kind with a few very heavy showers, but that did not dampen the spirits of the racers and showers on the day. This is always a great family show, and a well run club show, and it was so nice to see the children all there in the ring with their dogs. One little fellow was a proud little man going home with his big cup. That was little Finbar Leonard, who won the childrens handling class. Boy can he handle a dog. Finbar is definately a chip of the old block. Finbar is the son of well known sports man in the Whippet and Lurcher world,Joe Leonard.Well done Finbar,we are so proud of you, as is your daddy and mammy and congratulations to all the rest of the child handlers. Well done to you all A very big thank you to the Judge who done a wonderful but difficult job, and to the loyal committe of the club who work so hard each month to make these shows so enjoyable and such a big success. Bluebell (Deidre Mc Coy and our club chairman Janet Duke were there taking photographs of all the winners in their moment of glory.I will leave it to Janet Duke and Tracy Gill to put up the rest of the adult showing and racing results, which will happen shortly. Looking forward to the next show, the date of which will be advertised in the weeks to come. A very enjoyable day was had by all.
