I won a tub of Dorwest Keepers Mix natural conditioning supplement, but it has a really strong smell, and when added to food, he wont touch it.

I suppose I should also be giving him Household scraps, but in our house, there never seems to be any. :boogy:

To be honest I feed, or used to feed, a very small handful of Vitalin along with the meat, veg, carcases, bone etc. Dogs can digest and use cooked cereals, which is what flaked maize is. Raw or uncooked cereals are not possible for a dog to digest. I certainly wouldn't feed more than about one fifth of their feed as cereals: the majority is meat etc. Since Vitalin went bust I tend to use brown rice (more fibre than white rice), or wholemeal pasta, and occasionally dry wholemeal bread: its all just the bit of carbs the dog needs, and fibre as well so they don't get constipated with bone matter.
