at what age does a kit become an adult?

hello all,

i am visiting an agricultural show in a few weeks to show my poultry and i noticed there will be a ferret show there as well. i thought i would enter my 2 to give them a bit of entertainment and also stop the boredom of waiting around while the fowl is being judged. my ferts are roughly 4-5 months old but are quite big as i have onlyh fed them on fresh carcass meat since i got them, and i believe this has attributed to them shooting up in size! but do i enter into the kit or adult class? and before anyone has a go, my ferrets are working animals and that is their primary purpose, but i want to have a bit of fun and also get the ferts used to sights and sounds and travelling etc so please no unneeded comments.

To me, they would be kits mate. Many might not agree, but if they were born this summer, they are still kits, i tend to think of them as adults around a year old.

I though they are considered an adult when they come into their first season. So around next January onwards.
