niall_b73 41
ok so i guess this has been answered a few times before but i am going to ask any way. how do i tell the difference between a damson bush and a sloe bush ?? there are bumper crops of both where i am but i am not sure of which is which. also would it matter if the fruits were mixed when making damson/sloe vodka/gin ?? many thanks. niall_b73
Mooch. 177
Grab hold of a branch. If you scream in pain it's a blackthorn bush and therefore the fruit are sloes!
niall_b73 41
Thanks for that. Now if picking these fruits for gin/vodka do they have to be fully rip or would i get away with purple on one side and green on the other or sit it out and wait thanks again for your help. Ideation 8,216
Usually wait until after 1st frost, but if in a hurry you can stick em in freezer for a bit. The frost breaks em down a bit inside and makes them sweeter.
