bird 9,936
Imo they should be tapered all the way round so there,s no sharp edges...any sharp edges could damages the gums i,d have thought..jmo was brought up with staffs as a kid, and ones(b/s) i saw were like above. The old chap who lived next door to us, had been in the breed 40 years. And what he did and told us if you get any dogs that try to scrap or do and you got no b/s, is once they have grabbed each other. is one person hold the one dog, then you twist the collar very tight with your one hand, then with your other hand coup it around the dogs nose. The dog will have to loosen its grip to try to take a breath, then pull the dog back. Thats what he said, we never had probs so dont know if it would work. I suppose its what your dog as got hold of, a b/s does sound more eaiser, but if you aint got one and dogs do get into scraps now+then, the above might help you out.!! Quote Link to post
forest of dean redneck 11,624
im sure someone will suggest sticking finger up the dogs arsehole in a minute ive never ran on teethed quarry but was having a bad spell of kennel fights one time and i made one out of a broomstick and found it too soft , it was easier to have bucket of water or run out back and tell dogs to f***ing leave it and they would mainly stop.
