sport or way of life

Recommended Posts

Between 1992 and 1999 i did no field sports other than fishing.

HOW f*****g SHIT WAS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

from 1968 to 1992 and from 1999 I'm reborn. Could not live without the dugs now, don't know how I ever did.

Even if it's an unproductive mooch, It's better than anything else I've ever experienced,

(except for my kids and they are 300+ miles away with their own lives)

No surrender!

Cheers, D.

For me its totally 110% a way of life, and its not just about hunting stuff: its about being out in the countryside, noticing the changing seasons, what's growing, what's living there even if it is st

Suppose a way of life is the best description but then again maybe Stabbas right calling it a habbit, then again, maybe an obsession? All I know is that, I see it more when I can't run a dog, through

my dogs are extened part of my family so if i had 2 stop it would be hole in my life .my kids dogs ,wifes can come a go the dogs will not

what is a way of life if its thinking aout them every day and wishing your life away wishing you were out with them when your doing something else or cant get to sleep thinking about the days sport you have had with them. then yes thats me but family will always come before the dogs .but there was a time when perhaps they didnt and should have .

For me its totally 110% a way of life, and its not just about hunting stuff: its about being out in the countryside, noticing the changing seasons, what's growing, what's living there even if it is stuff I don't hunt: birds, reptiles, insects. And its watching the dogs hunt, being part of something which no material possessions could ever compete with, having that bond with a dog, training it, watching it grow up, eating what the dogs catch (well, most of it anyway) Dogs might drive you nuts at times but if I couldn't live like this I'd sooner be dead and they can ban whatever they like: I'll never stop going out with my dogs.

Suppose a way of life is the best description but then again maybe Stabbas right calling it a habbit, then again, maybe an obsession? All I know is that, I see it more when I can't run a dog, through injury, time of year or sommat. I'm obsessed, watching fields, looking for habitat, always planning, wondering, serching somehow, gets worse when I'm out of the country, it's just something I can't switch off and when I can run a dog, I just do, it's just part of me...!

To use an Americanism... 'Go figure'... Cause I can't....!!

im not sure how you sum it up ,Bosun has got pretty close, although my focus nowadays is more fixed on the mutt ,and getting the best out of him
