We had just such a Gyr down on the coast at Cornwall, round about five years ago, mate. No questioning that ones credentials.

Rare enough occurrance to give any Twitcher palpatations, sure. But in no way unacceptable. I no longer have the litrature, but I wonder if they're 'usually' coastal turn ups?

F*ck Me, mate! Your mention of " This time of year " finally pushed me just far enough. I've fished out my old Twitching note book and found 'my' Gyr, which was an off white, just like that bugger. I nearly shit myself when I found the entry!

I reckon that one's a 'Tick' as well, mate! Pukka kiddie! :good:
