Cleanliness In Kennels

I clean the run and bowls morning and night and bed once a week it only takes a couple of minutes if ya keep a good standard

 

There is the odd time the pup will walk in his sh!t and then lie on his outside bed then go in his kennel so I have to clean and disinfect every thin the joy of having a pup

They have buckets for water so they get that changed every second day. Kennel run gets cleaned daily. Feed bowls get cleaned by the dogs tongue!!

NOTICED EVERYONE WAS MENTIONING BATTLES BLACK .....

WELL IVE PROBABALY BEEN USING THE STUFF AROUND 15 YRS AND IT IS GOOD STUFF , HOWEVER ......

AFTER A WHILE IT SEEMS TO LEAVE A FILM OF OILY RESIDUE OVER THE RUN BOTTOMS SAME WITH JEYES WHICH IS A DILUTED FORM .......

TO COUNTER ACT THAT ONCE A WEEK THE KENNELS GET A GOOD SCRUB OUT WITH WASHING SODA CRYSTALS AND HOT WATER , THIS STUFF IS CHEAP AND VERY EFFECTIVE EXCELLENT FOR REMOVING THAT GREASE THAT DOGS RUB OFF ON TO KENNELS ETC

I ALSO INTERCHANGE BETWEEN BLEACH , BATTLES AND TRIGENE

What about fleas, ive just bathed all mine and put flea collars on, fresh water everyday, dishes and pens cleaned everyday aswell, ive mine chained up to the car at the minute they have got shade and are enjoying the sun

 

 

Fleas and worming is easyly done duramitex in a spray bottle half n half with water for fleas and neat for the mange/Or frontline get it on line benzo was another good un but hard to source there days same as duramitex but i knew a pidgoen bloke that sold me his last stock, And worming well too be honest i only do mine if they look wormy or see wormes in there stools,

 

Thats the things about fleas if you have fleas you'll have worms,

Just changing topic slightly .just re felted my kennel and was wondering how to stop rain getting threw door last year I put heavy rubber gasget over door but dog just pulls it off what do you recommend thanks .I wash down each day bedding when needed depending on weather and food and water everyday . I don't eat of dirty plate nor should my dog

 

Build a porch: doesn't have to be huge: just a wooden affair with two sides and a roof fixed on front of kennel: or maybe try roofing the whole run: best option if you can, but also try turning the kennel so it is facing away from the prevailing wind/rain.

To be fair run is 6ft widex 15 ft long trlis with panel fence on opposite sides and kennel sits outside of run with panel on one side of door so porch sounds good thanks sky cat

my runs are hosed out every day and i put disinfectant down afterwards sleeping area is swept out a couple of times a week and i spray duramitex round there kills any bugs and stuff that might be there then i spray with jeyes fluid it is watered right down if there is any poo in there on the afternoon i scrape it out and put it in the old" shit bucket" i clean the water bowls and food bowls out once a day using bleach and hot water

just give it a brush and hose down every day and properly disinfect them and their sleeping areas 2-3 times a week.

Well you know me stabba, i pick up the shite in a morning, hose the runs down and disinfect everyother day, i used to use trigene which was £120 odd for 25 litres, not bought it for a couple of years and use a pine disinfectant now. I disinfect the bowls every week but wash them in the sink every other day, every day if they have meat in........

clear shite up everyday and a quick sloosh out with the water hose but only disinfect kennels once a week with jeys, bedding changed weekly useing shredded paper,rinse and replace water bowls daily as with any food bowls and if that aint good enough tough

I clean them every day as well mate with jeyes,I clean both bowls every to and beds every 2weeks!! Where do you get that battle black from stabba mate?? Atb cbx

Most good agricultural stores will stock it mate....bout £12 to £15 notes for a 5 litre tin...lasts a helluva long time aswell

As for fleas and worms....wormed every 3 month on the dot...flea collars changed every 6 weeks or so..they are only £1.50 apiece so not much really
