Elmer Fudd 2011 39
I wouldn't even dream of stating what is or isn't the best all round terrier, but I can say that the best all round dog that I have had was a terrier and she was 3/4 Staffordshire Bull Terrier 1/4 Patterdale. If that makes me a twat then so be it. As a pest controller she was a god-send to me and she tried her hand at pretty much everything. I used to use her with the air rifles and shotgun; she would find and kill foxes on top for fun; she would work tirelessly retrieving geese and ducks for me; I used to lamp the becks with her and she'd keep me in ducks; and you could dig to her, even though at 24lb she had limitations as to where she could be used. I can state categorically though that she was useless at the ratting game. that dont look like the same dog in all the pictures mate it had to be staffy x pat didnt it . lol Edited August 21, 2011 by Elmer Fudd 2011 Quote Link to post

Bri 81
Here's my penny'worth. I haven't got one yet that I can call an all rounder but it has got to be the BEDLINGTON TERRIER! Just need to try my bitch to ground to see what happens. Was at the H.O.W. last weekend, biggest collection of working Bedlingtons I've seen.( Not everybody's cup of tea) Bri Quote Link to post
cdnhastings 23
The ultimate all rounder for me is a year rounder. Small enough to successfully get after the early season ground hogs, and smart enough, strong enough to keep the winter raccoons pinned down til the calvary comes. Ive a couple 13 lbers that fit the bill. Quote Link to post
