i think its all down to how much cover you have, and your own stealth :D

me and DEL from the site, tried it friday night, had to scale down a wall to get to the drop, reckon it was about 10 foot high.....

we drew a blank,,,,,, but you really dont know, unless you try it :good:

Seen quite a few posts by Phil G cant remember if he is on here or smoochers

he seems to get decent results on calm nights

[/q

Here you go :D this is a old post I put on smoochers and i'll try to add some pictures from different nights we've been out.

Out Thursday night after the Bunnies again in the full moon 2 drops of the nets 26 rabbits I love it only had 6 on the first drop (I think we've thinned them out in this area now ) moved onto neighbours orchards where i'd been driving past in my lorry earlier in the week and noticed all the holes up the side of the road . It was like Longnetting in daylight, cars zooming past and no one had any idea we were there I'll try to put some pictures up seeing as one of the old guys that came with us always says "you wont catch any tonight" full moon no wind and all that so we took a few pictures.we've taken loads on still nights it really doen't seem to make alot of difference on my patch.

I think we had 49 on this night

a few different nights. :D we've taken 216 bunnies off this patch this year alone :clapper:

I've been out when there's been next to no wind and a good sized moon, but in these

conditions I only do blind sets.

On the last one we did we got 33 rabbits in 130 yards of netting,I was doing the banting

and on my way back to the net I could see Jimmy running along the net when I was 40 yards

away.

Much prefer a strong wind and a bit of drizzle :) But if you waited for the right night

you wouldn't be out that much.

philg do you find quick set nets better on a calm nite as in easyer and quicker to get out ??

3 of us have roughly 100yards of long net each = 300yds we can run this out then bant the orchards in and still have good catches, never tried the traditional method but the 1 guy thats comes with me used to do it that way and says he would never go back to it  So I hope that sort of answers your question all I can say is that it works for me :D it is a very easy/quick method of longnetting and i've caught many rabbits. Try it and see for yourself it's the only way really mate ;) why so interested in the still/quiet/moonlit nights?? try the windy nights aswell and you will soon find out all about it  Glen Waters video is brilliant if you get it you will learn alot from it :clapper: money well spent ;)
