stamina in bull breeds

I personally think the practice of resistance training for bull breeds is incorrect for the breed. as soon as people start to breed for this we will have dogs with straight back ends and muscles that create oxygen debt. I think real bull breeds should be of a dalmation body type, with bundles of stamina and should be capable of repeated sprints. Would not say they would be the best for every task but bred right should be able to run all day. I know i want one, lol

my wee bull goes all day everyday. never give him anything really hard todo but when the lurchers are fooked my bull is still going. when he dose eventually stop for a rest the slightest thing has him back up and running as hard as ever. he will literally run till he collapses if i let him.

 

if i dident have to many dogs now ide be looking for someone wanting a bull to put over something nice and leggy cause ide love him to have slightly longer legs.

I accedentlie went to the first ever page of the lurcher section the other day . . . .

granted This was years ago and before the ban but there seemed to be people talking about hunting.

 

this is about pet staffs!

 

how can you see your dog "chasing deer for half an hour? either you were on land that resembaled th sahara desert or they was running round a traffic round about!

 

also if your dog is slow like you say how did the deer not just run away from him?

 

I only came on here because her in doors is watching the x factor and I cant stand it, iv not been on here for weeks and now I rember why.! !

I dont see him chasin deer for a half hour, I said he was on a run for a half hour, I see the deer, I see the dog chase the deer, I see the deer power away from the dog, I see my dog come back 30 to 40 minutes later completely screwed(5 minutes later though he is up and hunting again), also its moorland with coniferous woodland so I see the deer fairly close up at times so I often see the first couple of minutes, why so sceptical mate? I never made any claims for the dog, if u dont like it dont post or complain to admin, otherwise you come across as a bit of a turd.

and btw I do believe he is a good wee hunting dog just with limitations such as he will never catch a coursed brown hare(we dont have them here anyway) but he could catch a mountain hare if he hunts smart, and like I said he has caught rabbits rats and even a full grown goose, so what if my dog dosent come up to you're standards whatever they may be, I am happy enough with him.

a staff catch a blue hare?

I hear they are easy going on open ground for an average lurcher but thats some claim that a pure staff cand catch a blue hare!

its not about my standards ! but Iwouldnt use a staff for lurcher work myself.
