walshy0988 28
Hi all got just bought a hornet and wanted to know a rough price on hornadys 35gr vmax bullets. And what do you think of the priv 45gr sp cheers Walshy Quote Link to post
Greek Phil 5
About £20 per box. If your rifle will group PPU ammo their prices make reloading not worth the bother. Quote Link to post
spanielman 1
As above if they group ok your on a winner with the privi, they group fine in my ruger. Quote Link to post

Lewdan 17
Hi mate, reloading would be the best option, but if you don,t then prvi ammo is your cheapest bet. I have a ruger 77/22 in hornet and the 45 gns fire fairly accurate and have good stopping power down range, you can also keep the cases to reload if you ever change your mind you won,t be disappointed with the little hornet. Good luck. LD Quote Link to post
cragman 2,770
Walshy, I've a Ruger Hornet and it's doing the business for me. I've had six charlies in the last three weeks with it, from between 70-100 yds. I'm on home loads now, thanks to a good friend but I've tried S&Bs which were ok. Like you say, try a few different loads first and get used to the gun and it's trajectory. I've just got used to mine having only had my FAC since the turn of the year and now it's paying off. I didn't do much to start with being content to shadow a mate who I lamp with. Now I go on my own. It's a good rifle is the Hornet. Quote Link to post

charlie caller 3,654
Realoding is the way to get the best from a hornet, try this 35gn vmax under 12-12.3 grns of h110 dont go mad with the case chamfering, neck size only, lee collet dies work really well. Quote Link to post
mattydski 560
I use 35gr VMAX in my hornet over 13gr of lil' gun. I have never found the need to deviate from this round for any purpose............ Flat shooting, hard hitting. Quote Link to post
