maktayla 50
Firstly, I would like to say hello to everyone. I have been viewing these forums for sometime now and have found it very, very helpful in applying for my first firearms application. I have been shooting most of my life, mostly air rifles, and thought it was about time I applied for my firearms certificate. Because of my job, I get to meet and become friendly with a very large amount of farmers who have kindly given me permission to shoot on their land. Although I enjoy hunting with my Weihrauch hw80k very much, there has been a number of times I wish I had the ability to shoot the extra distance. Also, some of the farmers who have kindly given me permission to shoot, have asked me if I have means to control some of the foxes on their land. Due to this being my first time application for a firearm, I would like to ask if anyone would be able to tell me what the FEO, is likely to allow me. I have read numerous arguments for, and against .22 rimfire. Some have said you will need .22wmr at the minimum and others have said, some FEO's will only allow .22 hornet (centrefire) as a minimum for foxes. I have experience with .22 rimfires but not with centrefire rifles. So, is he/she likely to allow me a centrefire as a first firearm or, is a .22wmr adequate enough to humanely kill a fox at a given distance. I am from the South Wales area, merthyr Tydfil, to be exact. Maybe someone has had experience with the FEO for this area. Any help, advice would be very grateful. maktayla 50
Thanks to everyone for welcoming me. I can spend hours and hours on here. Is that good for you? Mmmmmmm Not seen any topics on that yet Anyway, The One. Thanks for the reply. Could you tell me if that was your first time app' for a firearm, if you had any previous experience and if it was South Wales Police you fall under. Thanks

maktayla 50
The One. Thanks. Tell I'm knew to forums, if I had paid more attention I would have seen the little flag at the bottom of the Gender. Bit confusing this firearms licensing. Got a friend in work with me just been granted a .308 for deer. First time application, he's never owned a firearm. He comes under Dyfed Police. Never thought that would happen. Suppose it's down to the licensing authority and justification. Suppose I will have to wait and see what he/she says when I get the interview. Should be interesting. Nervous now though, constantly waiting for the call.
