jimmys shop 182
Terry T is an eccentric sort of guy, remind you of Mr Darcy ,but a great character ,has been in the dogs a long time , into big time Falconry now ,i wouldn,t get excited over anything he writes as its his own preference of dogs ,think he had a few saluki,s also about 20 year ago . KittleRox 2,147
Mate has sorry had a sal/grey/whip big stuff small fields single handed shit hot, without the initial burst of speed the game would be gone in other words Terry T talks shite does create discussion though Quote Link to post
boyo 1,398
cannot see many dogmen agreeing with him on his assesment of whippets and thats being polite . Quote Link to post
Guest big e
A very good majority of lurchers have whippet through them one way or the other i totally disagree with him, to say they are slow is total crap. Quote Link to post
obi2 239
In my opinion a bit of whippet in a lurcher is a plus as they can add that initial burst and I personally haven't see a whippet cross that wasn't desparate to kill stuff Quote Link to post
jusar whippets 10
Doesn't really matter if your out with a yorkie, poodle, dalmation, westie, great dane lab, springer or Lurcher! As long as you have a bottle of pepsi in one hand and a fag in the other, and your out & about everyday in the great British countryside enjoying life and bimbling about with a dog in the fields & hedgerows as opposed to being stuck infront of a telly, then who cares what's what and what you do Quote Link to post

chartpolski 24,207
Of course everyone should have an opinion, and some people ARE breed blind, but anyone who says Whippets aren't fast, realy SHOULDN'T be writing for a national feildsports publication, (if you can call the CMW that), !!!!!! Cheers. 1 Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
His column, and statements are another good reason not to by this publication as Chartpolski said someone saying Whippets are not fast, it should not have been printed but then the old saying, there is no bad publicity, I used to buy it, I liked Penny Taylor column, and dogs for sale page, but that was it, as a ferreter, this subject really bored me, what can you say, you put ferret down, Rabbit bolts, if not you dig, end off. Ideation 8,216
They will print any shit in that thing, honestly, they hold the folk that write in it, up as some kind of group of working dog / ferret gurus, and most of what they write is total nonsense based upon their own limited experience or prejudices. It's a joke. Whippets are slow, ferrets are crap (you need an e.u poley), all poachers are also thieves and muggers and so it goes on and on and on. . . . seems like whoever is in charge will take anything written by these folk, without giving a thought to weather it has any kind of grounding in reality. 1 Quote Link to post
