Penda 3,341
i saw 1 crossed with a whippet years ago a traveller kid was trying to get rid for some reason only a pup like to be honest just looked like a bedlington whippet to me i know some of the irish lads do use them in some of the lurchers make ups, there must be some irsh terriers out there that are being used still Edited August 18, 2011 by Penda Quote Link to post

They made a very usefull fox dog, also good on deer,PK from cavan bred a lot of them years back, dont see many about now, back then they were a very popular x.I worked a couple and seen a few do there job,as good as the wheaton or bullx for foxing. When was the last time an Irish terrier anywhere did any graft? WELL you may say the same about the beddyx or english bull but that does not stop lads still trying to cross them, how many real working collies are used for crossing, ive seen quite a few irish terrier crosses and i like there temperment, cant say they were all fox stoppers, but they sure as hell gave all they could, now wheatons are a different kettle of fish, need i say more Quote Link to post
martinrachel 2
the irish terrier is a good working dog Quote Link to post

At least you can say SOME EBTS have been worked in the past at trials etc, and with collies i'd say the same about any breed blended into the lurcher melting pot, it should be from working stock........
