Caprelous 217
It could just as well be Hazel as well, without the leaf profile it will be very hard to come to a positive identification i am afraid
watchman 256
cant remember the exact tree but there is cherry trees up there along with hazel lol,oh well never mind cheers
steveS.Yorks 161
Almost certain thats Hazel mate,if it is Hazel it will dry out and weigh next to nothing,Cheerys pretty dense and would keep a bit of weight to it,Hazel is also an off creamy white colour,Cheery ussually has a tinge of colour to it. Me and the Gun 0
Hi Watchman, It is most definately Corylus Avellana (Common Hazel). I am trained horticulturist and have a particular interest in trees.

Tiny 7 1,694
Id say thats hazel aswell from the pic... But id say the prongs on that piece are too close together for a decent catty (might just be the pic's),
gnipper 6,412
I'd say hazel too but some of the varieties of cherry trees bark can look very similar.
gerjan 7
On the picture you can see some of the bark is chipped away. The wood looks very ligth just like hazel and cherry wood is a little red. (if thats correct English)
