spartan_ferret 6
My mums jack russell has had this blister type things all over his back, belly and head they went all crusty and scabby. He got really bad and could'nt even get up to eat or anything. Gave him some antihistamine and some other meds and his more lively now, eating, playing and mooching around looking for rats and things. But the crusty things are still there but they look like there getting better, they don't seem to hurt him or anything and he doesnt seem bothered by them, the way I would describe it would be as ''dog impetigo''. My mum thinks it's were his ran thru a bush and had an allergic reaction from it. But I've put him thru loads of bushes and other things before so the chances of him having it before would be high. My theory is his ran thru or agaisnt something which has been sprayed with or had a chemical spilled on it. If anyone has seen, heard or could help me with this issue I would be very thankful. sallie 67
It is quite possible to get a touch reaction from undergrowth, It can set up all sorts of reactions and different types of dermatitis. Sometimes you never know what causes it and it just goes away or it can persist. My bitch had a dermatitis reaction we never new where it came from. After the blistering affect she lost the hair around her ears, head and back. The skin went crusty. The vet gave her a slow releasing antibiotic which i think cost about £11.00 and she is fine now. Good luck with Jack.
p3d 879
It could be a condition called pyoderma. Small hard wart like blisters, Crusting can form over parts of the skin. The skin will look slightly raw if the crust falls away. It does not seem to affect the dog too much. If it is this, you will need antibiotics and a medical wash from the vet.
