What are the methods you lads and lady's are using I am using the hissing and saying no method you look and sound stupid but it seems too work or should I not be doing that one

never done anything like that just handled them a lot but tried it with this Jill i got given about a year ago and it just made her more angry:)still not the tamest ferret ever

just handle them as much as possible and it should be ok after a while i try to handle mine for about an hour a day.

if i get rubbished for this then so be it but i just wedge their mouth open with my finger as they nip you and hold it in their mouth sideways not so your finger is down the throat and just hold it there untill they want to pull away and after a few of them they dont want to nip anymore and i have done so many ferrets this way and not once has it failed,good luck mate but handling as much as possible is essential

a good old hard flick on the noise or three and by the time they have there big teeth they know not to bite if they get blood out of my fingers with there big teeth more than three time it game over, some ferrets will always bite some never do. i have a black eyed white that as never niped as a kit so i kept him and he is 5 yrs old this time and he works i have had my hand down a hole we had to dig to get him out and as i pulled a rabbit out he walked past me to get back to his kill

I use this method as well, have two this years Kits Brother and sister, the hob was always a quite beast, but the Jill liked a nip, drawing blood even with young teeth,

lots of handling and a few flicks on the nose, and she is now a Pusscat, sorted.

ive got a 13 week hob that likes to bite at times,i try put my finger down the wee fookers throat when possible.ill keep handling him more and hopfully that does the trick

yeah thats all good BUT you have got to go past the teeth ant you and fingers and teeth ant a good mix but what work for you

Not exactly down the throat but just enough so ferret finds it unpleasant, works with kits when they,re testing your fingers but a bit more difficult with an adult biter lol

ive used the finger down throat method on mine as kits and they are sound now. handle them for about 15 mins every day, sometimes have them in the house for an hour with the pup.
