Snifferboy 659
Hi I am looking for a greyhound vet or such like for a mate's bitch in Devon. She has a dislocated toe that doesn't want to heal, his vet said about removing the toe which seemed a bit drastic or removing the nail that cuts into the swollen/dislocated toe which to me makes no sense to me as the problem would still be there. He has the x-rays etc and knows the consequences but is a bugger for trying to run her as soon as she looks ok, I have managed to calm him down and take her for short lead walks only but really need to get some decent advice before he ruin's a good animal. Does anyone have any contacts they could pass on we are right in the middle of Devon and would appreciate any help. Cheers Sniffer Quote Link to post

Cheers Sniffer My old dog dislocated his outside rear right toe in a puppy stake years ago, took him to Desi Fagan in Milton Keynes,[ now in Aussie]. he said two options amputation ,or try blistering the toe, and applying radial,as the dog was only a puppy I went for the second option it was a success.Dogs will run ok without a toe ,but I would investifgate alternatives first.ATB.
