100% it was a Fenian with an air rifle, b*****ds they are!

Or it could just have been a bulb blowing, those cabinet bulbs blow dead easy, you can get led ones now I think to replace them.

Theres something wrong with the circuit theyre on mate get it checked i made the mistake of letting a council spark in last week he by passed the circuit breaker to make that side that was broke work in the kitchen. Two minutes later Andy had to chase after him as the washing machine blew up lol and went on fire :blink: the guys response was i was just trying to make your washing machine work LMAO aye well you did that alright. He went on to tell me hes put a differant part in that shouldnt be on that board but he didnt have anything else.So i had a look and well i aint impressed to say the least the boards a very good one and hes replaced some bits with cheap tat so it wont trip.Funny thing is a light bulb blows here it goes washing machine blows up or andy gets chromed with the stereo and not a thing from it.Have now got them to agree we need a private sparly to have a look and give them a report cos the electrics in fawlty towers would be better than the ones here.if it blew that badly it smashed id deffo check before replacing any bulbs to save your self time and money in the end up

Did the whole fuseboard trip, or just the lights ?? It should only trip the lights really, unless you have a fuseboard with an RCD and that is not a "Split load". IE, split in 2 sides, one for sockets, shower, cooker etc. The other side for lights. It just means that if your kettle goes faulty and trips the RCD, the lights will stay on.........Still with me.

Are the downlights low voltage (110v) or 240v ?? Most downlights are low voltage and don't have an earth at the lamp, so probably blew the trip on over current, more than 5/6amps. If they are working all right now then apart from the flying glass, everything worked as it should.

HTH,

Arch.

Aye and it was this fenian but it was my .222 and i was aiming for your head mudda fucka....................... :boogy:

I've got them in the bathroom too mate, i have a false roof so there is a gap between that and the actual roof. If this gap isn't big enough i was told that they heat up quite bad and that shortens there life expectancy............

They are just a pain in the arse,,

I have to constanly replace them for folk,, get the led ones, or buy a bugfuckoff box of them from a wholesale supplier,,

If the rest of the lights are back on, don`t fret to much, just replace it and try it, RCD`s will trip when a lamp blows.

Ethyl I made neither head ,nor tale of that post !
