Drop the mixer, the poor bugger must be right constipated on just carcass.

Get some raw veg, cookwd brown rice, fatty meat, offal etc.

Do a search in the "working dog health and training" section.

There have been some very thorough posts of late and ive put what I feed my dogs up twice.

All the best.

Doesn't matter where veg comes from ..i grate my carrots because they need grating and all my root veggies and fruit ...greens i chop finely ...its the bone in the carcass thats making him constipated ..i feed veg every other day ..and the days i don't i feed either rice pasta or brown bread ..suggestion is to crush the carcass and mix the veg in as a lot of dogs won't just eat raw veg and some go out their way to avoid it

Sounds like too much bone in the diet mate, you'll want to reduce the amount of bone and increase the amount of meat. I try to aim for 80-85% meat, 10-15% edible bones, 5=10% organs with half of that being liver. Try to give a variety of things; I feed mine a lot of hearts as they are good cheap meat, lamb necks, mutton flaps. when giving chicken carcasses I always give liver at the same time as it is very good at stopping things from getting bound up.

For more information the Dog Food Chat forum is good, you can find it on google.

Cheers guys do you buy the veg from a veg shop or supermarket

 Hahahaha F*ck me mate that's got to be the funniest question I've ever seen on the NET!

I personally think that you're worrying about it all too much, As good as the chicken is you'll need to give the dog more than just chicken carcasses, give it Lamb, Beef (Mince), Tripe and bones a few times a week. Don't worry about the fat in the Lamb, if it looks as though it's putting on too much weight then don't feed it as much Lamb.

BARF is the best way to feed a dog make no mistake of that, a dog isn't going to of evolved in the past few years to do better on a bag of dry food because of what they say about this and that vitamins and this amount of protein just to get you to buy their product. Dog's have always ate BARF since before they were domesticated by humans, that's a long f*cking time.

Just look at what comes out of the other end, With dry food the shits are like a mousse and there is loads of it! With a more natural diet, their shits actually look like a proper shit and there's a lot less of it, which to me says that if it isn't excreting as much waste then it must be using up more of the goodness that the natural diet is giving to the dog, as it will only get rid of the bad (waste) part of the food that it can't digest properly.
