mrcaniplaywithmadness 6
right, we found the chicken head on in a bush next to a BADGER run in our garden. we new we had a badger problem but we covered the holes with some stick (to see if anything lived there) but nothing busted out and the runs seem pretty dormant too. ie. dead flatened grass and NO MORE POO. now, as i said, the chicken wasn't dead. it had half an ass and half its neck ripped out?? what do you think did this?? than you. ben. gnipper 6,484
Sounds like a bird of prey to be eating it alive. Mustelids will kill before eating. Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
Could be rat or mink with river close, but would expect a very dead chook. Probably is a bird mate. Quote Link to post

Maybe its a young one. If i have ever found or heard of any birds(usually pigeons) half eaten and still alive its usually a sparrow hawk involved. Keep your eyes peeled, to be fair there are lots of them but there not a bird you see often..... Is there more chickens running around? Quote Link to post
