Guest Ditch_Shitter
I too feed ox and lamb hearts. More ox because lamb is much more expensive, unless the butcher feels it might as well go. I'd say take a hint from those 'cheap' pigs and go ask around for ox hearts. At about eight times the size of a pigs, they should cost a considerable bit less and it's some of the leanest, meanest meat ye can get ye hands on A very simple basis on which to work out a feeding regimen is this: If a Dog pulls over an animal, what will it get to feed itself, in a natural state? Well, for it's - lets say - months ration, it'll get One heart. One liver. Two kidneys and a whole f*ck off great stack of raw bones stacked with muscle flesh. That's how nature has it figured. Kind of like four parts organs to a shit load of flesh and bone. See what I'm saying ....?

Makes perfect sense.....(in nature however, higher pack members get 'rich' organs (heart, lung, liver) lower down the line it's muscle&bones) Cheers Eggy
Guest lewis
i feed my dogs half dry food and half raw meat. tbh i stay away from pork as much as possible it gives the dogs worms if i feed toi much of it, the meat i base my dogs raw diet on is beef! ox heart, beef brisket on the bone, beef liver, beef kidney etc the only pork i feed is belly pork. lamb hearts are good but if you find a nutritional website you'll find that beef has the lower fat content in the meat and lamb has the most! i also feed whole fish im sure they sell bones in morrisons bagged up cheap aswell Edited March 11, 2007 by lewis
