B.P.R 2,798
Went today and only thing I enjoyed was the dog show and the Craic. Been the show every year since it started and this year has been the worst. Events co-ordinator can you pass these criticisms on please: sit tight...... Firstly the amount of trade stands at the show could be counted on 1 hand. I went with money in my pocket to buy new leads, collars, dog coats, dummies, knife and whatever else took my fancy. There was 2 stands selling leads etc and they didn't have much so came away with a slip lead. The knife stall 'bladetech' told me at scone he was going but wasnt there? The ferret section was tiny, a poxy little tent and a make shift arena. Last year Simon had his trailer and a decent arena. The gundog trial was shit' a few bales of straw and a bush, last year they had it in the river and tried hard at it. This year it was seriously wank. The food hall was empty, previous years they had lots to offer but there was around 5 stalls and the same goes for the craft stand. There was no atmosphere at the show, no live music, no decent stalls, no ferret kit for sale, minimal dog kit and most of last years attractions were missing. I mean where's that crazy guy who does the wood turning? The knife stall, the dog coat stall. Comes to something when 'don philpot, daughter and granddaughter' ain't there. Them guys are at every show in Britain!. On the whole i had a good day, I paid £10 to get into the dog show and walk around for an Hour. The show was boring and that's not said without any thought. Year after year I've been saying, next year they will sort it out but they don't. Things never change, no new attractions and not many for kids. Wtf was the laser quest all about, a few pallets and a laser gun? Come on ffs. People go on about us supporting the sport by going to these shows and spending money but there's nothing to spend the money on. Last year I said I wouldn't waste my money (and I got free tickets) but gave it another chance this year but I won't be bAck next year and I've spoke to a few people walking about who say the same. Dog men and women make shows like this entertaining yet they get shoved to one side away from everybody else? Somebody needs to listen because there wasn't a lot of people there today compared to previous years and I bet there's less next year! I heard something about trade stands being turned away too? The ones that were there was spaced out as much as possible to make it look full, they were like 40yards apart! At least the weather was ok and the dogs got a walk! I enjoy these show
sikastag_1 689
Didn't get a chance to walk about the stalls really mate only at the end as they were packing away, just want to say about the dogs show away to one side, I'd rather the dogs were put to one side and you can get cars in etc than it be in the middle of it all and needing to keep the dogs there all day on leads so I think the dogs being were they were was a good thing rather than bad. lurcher2020 285
I'll not be back even though we did all right in show 3rd way dog n best bull but the fair was shite and not worth £10 entry fee
jimmy 76
i gave up goint to this show after 3 years and seems it still not changed .Why not have a dog show near this shit and you would save the £10 to get in and if you wanted go to the so called game fair you could .The dog show would get more pep at it as a tenner to show your dog is fecking dear .Maybe we should boycot it and see what they do

dennned 172
a got second at raceing and won show so i had a good day agree about stalls wish people who won year before would hand back the shields he was there to hope he just forgot well don to den for wining the raceing its a very fast dog 10 pound to show [bANNED TEXT] dog is steep cheers davie, hes coming along great , i thought the racing went well , ok i won i ran it , blowing my own trumpet for a change , lol the lads who run the dog show getting some stick i see , but theyre really profesional at what they do , well done lads, yes a bit pricey for a dog show , but what can they do , theyre only running it for the fair, to all the winners well done , the losers , better luck next time, and to those that ran dogs for the very first time , stick at it , your dogs will eventually get the hang of it.-----den
Country Joe 1,411
I think these fair organisers, have forgot this country is in a recession, £5 a head should have been charged, do they just expect people to turn up every year, take that Welsh casting expert, he has been there the last three years with the same show, they must shake hands with these blokes at the end of the show, and say, all right for next year. ,I could walk round all the stalls in 15 mins, I also would have spent money, if the right stalls had been there, I mean not even one book stall, And at £10 entry, then your petrol, don't know if they charge for entry fee at the Lurcher show, but its a lot of money for a dog show, roll on Lowther next year.
