Any ideas to shut her up?

The pup Donut is a moaning little git cant bear me or Andy to leave the room if she cant follow she goes bonkers.Ive tried every trick in the book to tone her down she was reared in the crate so cant understand why i cant leave her in the crate at night without her going bonkers.Ive tried ignoring her and she barked and whinged herself hoarse.Its driving me bananas cant have it she needs to learn somehow just thought id ask and see if anyone has any good tips ive tried kongs chews toys a teddy the radios on for the other 2 anyways and ive even tried slapping the caret with a paper to try and make her shut up but she doesnt give a f**k

try DAP plug in you can get it online pets at home sell it but its twice the price mine was the same as soon as i went out he would howl till i came back but after trying everything as you have I tried it and it worked its no miracle cure but it did seem to calm him down

Tried that mate she doesnt care still keeps going even tried the spray collar i have here and to no avail ive done all the usual stuff and more even if the other dogs are in the room with her she screams the place down never met a dog i couldnt clam down and make ssh but this little cow has beaten me hands down so far

my pup was a bugger when I first got her at 9 weeks old, she would literally scream as soon as I left the room when I left her in the crate.....to the point where the first two weeks I had her I had to sleep on the couch in the same room. Try leaving the crate door open so she can go in and out during the day so it's not thought of as just something she's trapped in at night, and put a sheet over the top of the crate so only the front of it is open, it'll feel more like a safe den rather than a cage then. Worked for me in the end but I must admit it was quite a long process!

Yeah mate she will sit in the crate during the day no bother with the door open they pups were reared here and i used the crate as mum wouldnt use the whelping box.theres a heavy black material over the 3 sides of it i think shes just way too attached to us she wont leave my side no matter what i do.Theres no bribing her either i know it wont be a short fix but after weeks of lack of sleep id try anything i dont give in to her no matter what thats why im confused as to why she still carries on shes smart as hell so she must realise by now it gets her no where.Even if im in the room and shes in the crate she cracks up tried taking a crate into the bedroom as well and still she sang like a demented parrot on speed.Ive tried allowing her a run at night as well to try and tire her out but nope shes still a madam from hell.Might give the dap a go though tried rescue remedy but that did nothing for her.We do the same thing every night she gets fed out for her buisness a little bit of a run round the back green and then into bed but she has to give it up soon i need to be able to sleep i do too much with other dogs and my other 2 to be up all hours of the night like this

try wearing an old T shirt or something for the day and then giving it to her as bedding, your scent might reassure her a bit?

Can you not double her up with another dog for company.

I know you bred her and she's always lived there but maybe the loss of her littermates has hit her hard and she feels very insecure.

I've put a pup in with a calm older dog and it's worked, after a few weeks the pup has more confidence and can be left alone.

I've often noticed that pups seem to have a mad half hour/hour last thing at night before they crash. Have you tried giving her the last feed quite late, about 10pm? Then make sure that she has enough time and stimulation to do the mad half hour/hour thing. Even my nutty pups usually go quiet with this routine. As a last resort, leave her loose! That has worked with any pups which won't accept the crate: I must admit to having been beaten a few times by Saluki types :icon_redface: but they always seem to house train very early and when given the freedom of the place have never abused the privilege.......... yet!

 

By the way: my worst ever pup was a Collie lurcher: just couldn't cope with being shut in small spaces: I eventually sorted the problem by making her a larger cubby hole under the TV and leaving the TV on all night, quietly: that a good sized bone to chew on.

 

As a very last suggestion: and I know people think I bang on about raw feeding all the time some foods do really disagree with dogs and can make them much more hyped up than they would be if fed on a raw diet: I think there might be one or two people on here who have come to the same conclusion

Had the same for the last 5 months ,slept on sofa most of that time so she wouldnt wake the youngen up,she seems to be calming down 8 month old now i think some are just born whingers and it doesnt matter what you try hope you get something sorted

i get sacks of Purina Pro performance off work for my work dogs, fed the young collie cross pup it the things bouncing off the walls!!!!

 

even after a huge walk!!

i just got my self 2 6 weeks old pups yesterday last night was not to bad only because theres 2of them try leaving a knuckle bone in with the pup i just put some photes of my pups on this sight

its purely an instinctive trait in canines, think about pups or cubs in the wild not wanting to be left behind or lost, the need to keep the adults in sight,,you need to break the emotional attachment between you ,not sure what age the pup is ,or how long shes away from the bitch ,,

is there someone with her all day every day, if so thats the norm and anything different from that is panic stations for the pup,,

build up her confidence,,that means not correcting physically or shouting ,trying biting your tongue and redirecting her, hard i know but a confident pup is happy in his own skin and not as clingy,,,

,,dont make a huge fuss of her either,pups start leaning towards that as a crutch ,and when not available panic ,let her find her feet as such,,

you probably not looking at the situation rationally with all the f ing noise, you need to persist with one approach and see it through,,

hope shes worth it ,,or all that trauma shes causing may come back to haunt her,,
