Streamstown camping /caravan park is very good. If you are stuck we might be able to arrange some 'rough camping' for you with local farmer. The Whippet racing classification is likely to change to weight/height after this show but hopefully the split is at least a step in the right direction towards running like with like. Good Man 196
wont be going this year, after getting mobbed by a young gang of travelers last year asking me to race their dog against mine. when i said no and walked on, they persisted and got quiet intimidating! i looked for security, but none around, had to go into crowds and tents to loose them! not all travelers are bad, but these were a nightmare!! their is a good few i know, that went last year, that wont be returning this year. i hope, this year, it runs ok for you, good luck. AlbertJ 569
We did get reports of some people having a bit of hassle from people who were alleged to be travellers near the terrier and lurcher rings. But unfortunately it was not reported to us until AFTER the show. We had good security at each of the gates and circulating both on foot and by buggy , plus Garda on mountain bikes and our car parking team are all in radio contact ( so that they can be part of the response to problems). Had this been reported it would have been dealt with immediately. We create a happy hassle free atmosphere at our events and certainly this problem appears to have been largely confined to the terrier and lurcher area. No problems were seen or reported on the main fair site or at the clay pigeon shooting ( in the same field as the terriers and lurchers). This year we will have stewards and security on duty in the area AND there will be NO SELLING OF PUPS OR DOGS on the site BUT for us to deal with any individual complaints we must be told about them there and then by reporting them to Game Fair HQ,the staff at the gates, our car park attendants or the security staff. We have zero tolerance of bad behaviour at our events and if a problem is reported we deal with it immediately. Albert J
